Dr Siavash Es’haghi

MBChC FRANZCR

Dr Siavash Es’haghi obtained his medical degree at the University of Otago (NZ) in 1993 and was accepted as a fellow of the RANZCR subsequent to his radiology training at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. Dr Es’haghi’s experience as a radiologist is enhanced through his completion of a fellowship in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) with special emphasis on musculoskeletal and breast imaging.

Committed to ongoing professional development, Dr Es’haghi has involved himself in student and registrar training at the PA and Rockhampton Hospitals as well being the Supervising MRI Radiologist at the Rockhampton and Sunshine Coast Private Hospitals.

Dr Es’haghi is the founder and Managing Radiologist of Sunshine Coast Radiology practices.


 

Dr Geoff Clark

MBBS (Qld) BE (Qld) FRANZCR

 

Dr Geoff Clark obtained his Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery with Honours from the University of Queensland in 1996. He trained in Radiology at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, gaining admittance to the RANZCR in 2006.

Currently Dr Clark works at our Rockhampton practice and also at Breast Screen Queensland, which includes mammography reading, assessment clinics and multidisciplinary meetings.  Previously Dr Clark worked as a Staff Radiologist at Nambour General Hospital, where he was the supervisor of registrar training. His special expertise in Musculoskeletal and Sports Medicine Imaging is underpinned by fellowships in both Musculoskeletal Imaging and MRI.


 

Dr Nigel Sommerfeld

MBBS FRANZCR

Dr Nigel Sommerfeld completed his undergraduate medical training at the University of Queensland and pursued his radiology specialist training at the Mater Public and Princess Alexandra Hospitals in Brisbane. Winning the Uhr-Clarke Bursary in 2003, Dr Sommerfeld became a fellow of RANZCR in 2004.

Nigel will continue to practise part time as a Staff Specialist at Nambour General Hospital, presenting the weekly Intensive Care meeting and participating in the thoracic malignancy multidisciplinary team.


 

Dr Peter Wakefield

MBBS (Qld) FRANZCR

Dr Peter Wakefield studied medicine at the University of Queensland and undertook his Radiology training at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. He gained admittance to RANZCR in 2008 following the completion of a Musculoskeletal fellowship.

As a Staff Specialist Radiologist at Nambour General Hospital, Dr Wakefield’s duties cover a wide range of sub-specialty areas utilising all modalities, including MRI. His skills and knowledge of radiology is continually updated through his contribution to the registrar training program and his leadership at regular radiology meetings at Nambour General Hospital.


 

DR Anthony CHAN

MBBS (UTAS) FRANZCR

Dr Anthony Chan was born and raised in Tasmania, obtaining his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Tasmania. After interning at the Royal Hobart Hospital, Anthony moved to Queensland where he has worked extensively in Central and South East Queensland including  Gladstone, Cunnamulla and Toowoomba.

Dr Chan underwent radiology training at the Royal Brisbane and Womens Hospital, undertaking Neuroradiology and Musculoskeletal MRI Fellowships. Dr Chan became a fellow of RANZCR in 2007. He divides his time between private practice and as staff specialist at the Nambour General Hospital. He is part of the Queensland Breast Screen Program Nambour and dedicates time in training junior registrars in both radiology and other sub-specialities.


 

DR DENISE LADWIG

B Med FRANZCOG DDU

Dr Denise Ladwig is an Obstetrician Gynaecologist and Ultrasound Specialist. Denise works exclusively in women’s imaging, completing her fellowship at the Royal Hospital for Women in Sydney. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and has a Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound. She has worked in both the public and private sector, with consultant appointments including Royal Hospital for Women and St George Private Hospital (Sydney). Denise has been an examiner for the Diploma of Medical Ultrasound for the Australasian Society of Ultrasound in Medicine.

 


  

DR James challen

MBBS FRANZCR

Dr James Challen obtained his Bachelor of medicine and surgery from the University of QLD in 1999.  He trained in Radiology at Princess Alexandra Hospital Brisbane before going on to complete fellowships in general MRI and cardiac imaging.  After completing these fellowships, Dr. Challen became recognised by the college as an MRI supervisor and became accredited by the Australian Conjoint Cardiac Committee to report cardiac CT scans. Since moving to the Sunshine Coast in early 2009, he has worked as a staff specialist at Nambour General hospital  (NGH).  He is currently the supervisor of training for radiology registrars and is heavily involved in all areas of their training and assessment.  Dr. Challen regularly chairs a number of combined clinical and radiology meetings at NGH, including meetings in general medicine, orthopedics and urology. These meetings provide an invaluable feedback loop between radiologists and specialist clinicians.  


  

DR TEVITA TAKA

MB ChB, FRANZCR

Dr Taka graduated from Otago University Medical School, Dunedin, New Zealand in December 1993. He worked in various hospitals throughout New Zealand before returning to Dunedin to undertake his radiology training. He is a Fellow of RANZCR and has special interests in Neuroimaging, Abdominal imaging and Musculoskeletal imaging. Dr Taka has moved to the Sunshine Coast with his family and is looking forward to working in an exciting and evolving Radiology practice.
