Preparation for the Nuchal Translucency Scan
- Have an early pregnancy scan to establish an accurate gestational age of your baby.
- Book your scan between the gestational ages of 11 weeks 3 days and 13 weeks 6 days.
- If possible, have your blood test performed between 10-11 weeks. If your are more than 11 weeks this is still acceptable and preferably have this blood test performed a minimum of three days prior to your scan.
- Fill your bladder as per directions given to you by our reception staff.
- Bring any prior scans that you may have had for this pregnancy.
- Fill out all paperwork given to you by reception staff as accurately as possible.
- Book a follow-up appointment with your referring doctor to get the results of your scan.
